About Things to Do in NYC

An independent guide that helps you choose the right New York City tours, tickets and day trips, and book them without surprises.

Who we are

Things to Do in NYC is written by the Things to Do in NYC editorial team. We are not a tour operator and we don't sell tours ourselves: we compare what GetYourGuide offers for New York and send you to the tour that fits.

How we pick tours

  • Live data. Price, duration, group size, meeting point and cancellation terms come from GetYourGuide's live listing of each tour, not from memory.
  • Rating and reviews. We show the rating and the number of reviews as GetYourGuide shows them, never rounded up. We prefer tours with many reviews over a perfect score from a handful, and say "few reviews so far" where there are only a few.
  • Who sells it. Where an official seller exists, we name it: Statue City Cruises for the Statue of Liberty ferry, the observation decks and museums that sell their own tickets, and the ticket agent behind the Broadway seats.
  • Refunds, said plainly. A tour that cannot be refunded is labelled "Non-refundable" and listed last, unless every ticket of that kind is non-refundable.
  • Low-rated tours left off. When a tour is rated poorly and the page has better options, we leave it out.

Where the facts come from

Tour prices, durations and ratings come from GetYourGuide and were checked on 24 October 2026. Opening times, official ticket prices and travel times come from the official sites of the attractions, parks and transport operators, linked on each page. Hotels were checked on Booking.com. Prices change, so the booking page always has the final word.

How the site earns money

Our affiliate disclosure explains this. It is linked at the bottom of every page.
