What Edge is: the Hudson Yards observation deck
Edge is an outdoor sky deck on the 100th level of 30 Hudson Yards. It sits 1,100 feet up. Its glass walls lean out over the city.
A visit takes 60 to 90 minutes, says Edge. You spend 30 to 60 minutes in an indoor exhibit first. Then a 52-second lift takes you to Level 100.
If the weather turns
The outdoor deck can close for a while in high winds or lightning. The indoor areas stay open. Free cancellation on GetYourGuide helps if the forecast looks bad.
Is Edge NYC worth it?
Yes, if you want to stand on glass high above the street. The glass floor and the leaning walls are what set Edge apart. If heights scare you, the glass floor may be hard to enjoy.
For mirror rooms and glass skyboxes, compare SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, next to Grand Central in Midtown.
Tours with Edge entry
Two of our picks pair Edge with a guided walk. The Chelsea and High Line walk starts at the Whitney Museum. The Little Island tour starts at the Vessel.
Photos from the glass floor
Bring a phone or a small camera. Tripods, lights and pro photo gear are not allowed. Selfie sticks are banned on the outdoor deck.
