Walk the bridge on your own for free, or take a bike tour for the history. Both bike tours here cross the bridge with a guide.

Since 2021 the bridge has had a separate two-way bike lane. Walkers use the promenade.

Want to go on your own? Our Brooklyn Bridge walk guide explains the route and the best spots.

Is the Brooklyn Bridge free?

Yes. The walkway is public, and the city lists no fee. You only pay if you book a tour.

The city is repairing the towers. It has posted no closure dates.

Subways near the park are High St (A, C), Clark St (2, 3), York St (F) and Borough Hall (4, 5). For more areas to explore, see our guide to NYC neighborhoods.
